Jeremiah Colbert ‘21
My name is Jeremiah Colbert. I am a senior from Washington, DC where I live with my mother, father, and my older brother Antoine. I am grateful to be an ABC Scholar and to have the opportunity to attend Winchester High. In past summers, I worked as a junior counselor with a well-known enrichment program called City Kids. After being a camper there for four years, I was very excited to work with younger campers as it helped gain perspective of where I was at that age. At the conclusion of my summer counseling, I was able to take a 3-week backpacking trip in Wyoming. This past summer, I did a social justice workshop with Tufts, where I learned a lot from my peers and it felt great to express my opinions around like-minded people. This year, my favorite course is Modern Culture and Media, and I am looking forward to working as hard as possible to obtain college recognition and choose what college I want to go to. I am also looking forward to playing with the volleyball team and spending time playing basketball and video games with my friends and ABC brothers.
Samuel Cruz ‘21
My name is Samuel Cruz and I am a senior at Winchester High School. I am of Dominican descent and I come from Lawrence, a small city in northeast Massachusetts. Some of my hobbies include photography, video games, and watching movies. My favorite subjects are language arts and science. I am on Winchester High School’s volleyball team, one of the new interests I have developed while attending Winchester High School. I am grateful to be an ABC scholar and know that I will cherish this experience for my whole life.
Ibny Xian Crookson '23
My name is Ibny Xian Crookson and I am from Binghamton, New York. This summer, I took a photography class at BLI. I am a Sophomore at Winchester High School. Some activities that I enjoy are writing spoken word poetry, photography, and Biking. My favorite subjects are Math and English. In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball and biking. I like trying new things, one of my electives this year is photography. I look forward to learning and growing as an ABC scholar.
Melvin Kabucho '23
My name is Melvin Kabucho; I am from Worcester, MA and a sophomore at Winchester High School. My family comes from Kenya in East Africa. I like to play basketball and photography as a hobby. This year, I am excited for my engineering and design class and I am interested in playing on the basketball team. My favorite subjects are biology and math. I like to be outdoors, discover new things, and try new things. I am also a music enthusiast because it helps to keep me relaxed and makes me happy. My favorite food is pasta. Here at Winchester I am excited to try things that I have never tried before. and know that I will cherish this experience for my whole life.
Waldo Vasquez '24
My name is Waldo Vasquez. I live in Bridgeport, Connecticut and my family is from the D.R. (Dominican Republic). I am a freshman at Winchester High School and I will always be open to try new things. This year I intend to work hard and stay focused in all of my classes. My favorite subject is math and I hope to do very well in it. In my free time, I like to play sports and/or video games with my friends and ABC brothers.
Devon Headley '24
My name is Devon Headley and I am from Brooklyn, New York. I am a Freshman at Winchester High School. Some activities that I enjoy are Drawing, listening to R&B (Soul Music) and Exercising. My favorite subjects are Math and Science. In my free time, I enjoy playing Basketball and Tennis. One of my elective courses this year is Computer Science. I am excited to visit Boston and learn more about the city, as well as grow and develop as a Winchester ABC scholar.
