Honor Mike Schoenegge
Winchester A Better Chance mourns the loss of our beloved president, Michael Schoenegge, who died unexpectedly on March 22. Mike’s connection to WABC started in his childhood when his family served as a host family for a WABC scholar. When he moved back to Winchester as an adult, with his young family, Mike again got involved with WABC in many capacities, ultimately becoming president in 2020.
Mike's love for the scholars and everyone involved in the program was evident in everything he did. Positive, kind, thoughtful, and determined, Mike made a huge impact on our organization. This is a tremendous loss for our community.
We miss you, Mike.
To honor and remember Mike, we've set up a special project-- Mike's Bikes and Adventures. While all donations made in Mike's memory will go towards the basic needs of our program involving house maintenance, scholar academic needs, etc. (as Mike would have wanted), we also plan to set aside some money for Mike's Bikes and Adventures. This project will provide every WABC scholar with a bike of their very own and every year we will have an adventure with the scholars that gives them the kind of outdoor experience that Mike loved. It feels like a perfect way to remember Mike.
If you would like to honor Mike with a Donation to Winchester ABC, you can do so here. All donations are tax-deductible.
